Constant current power supplies from OPTOTRONIC
®
provide highly efficient total LED solutions for demanding
applications. OSRAM offers a wide range of both simple
and fully programmable control units with the innovative
LEDset2 interface between the OPTOTRONIC
®
power
supplies and the LED module. The units from this product
category have various control interfaces (DALI, EASY) to
meet the different requirements of relevant applications.
With constant current power supplies a differentiation is
made between:

Linear & Area
OSRAM OPTOTRONIC
®
Linear & Area LED drivers with
their technical specifications and dimensions are ideal
for operating Linear & Area LED modules such as the
PrevaLED
®
Linear Value (PLVZ1-LIN) modules. In this
combination they are highly suitable in luminaires and
applications in which linear light sources such as T8 or
T5 lamps were previously used, but also for new ap-
plications. Linear & Area LED drivers are assembled in
diverse applications, e.g. for the office or industry sectors
in trunking systems, surface-mounted and recessed
luminaires, pendant luminaires, floor-standing luminaires
and (damp-proof) diffuser luminaires.
With OPTOTRONIC
®
Linear & Area drivers a
differentiation is made between SELV (Safety Extra Low
Voltage) and non-SELV for LED drivers as well as
modules. With SELV drivers or modules, double electrical
isolation must exist on the primary and secondary sides;
this is not necessary with non-SELV.
Non-SELV components must be assembled with absolute
touch protection; this protection cannot be removed with-
out tools. SELV components with protection class III on
the other hand are touch-proof and the secondary voltage
on the driver must not permanently exceed 60V DC.

Compact LED power supplies
with their technical specifications and dimensions are
optimally suited for operating spot and downlight
modules such as the PrevaLED
®
Core (PL-CORE) and
PrevaLED
®
COINlight modules. In this combination they
are ideal in luminaires and applications that previously
used halogen lamps or discharge lamps for accent light-
ing. Spot and downlight LED power supplies are used in
many diverse applications, for example in the retail and
hospitality sector in spotlights, downlights and modular
light systems.
