Implementation of EU standards
European regulations on the environmentally-friendly
design of energy-relevant products (ErP) continue to
make themselves felt on the lighting market. In the
coming years, implementing directive 1194/2012 will
become particularly relevant.
At the same time, regulation 874/2012 sees new
regulation of energy labeling come into force.
Ecodesign regulation: EU 1194/2012
The implementing measure takes place in three stages.
For the first time, minimum requirements shall apply for
the energy efficiency and functionality of lamps and LED
modules with directional light and for the functionality
of non-directional LED lamps. The innovative OSRAM
portfolio completely fulfills the legal requirements for
efficiency and quality and, in most cases, even exceeds
them.
