Introduction
2013 EU legislation changes impacting lighting
Below are some changes introduced in September 2013 that will have a major impact on all lighting technologies and
will make it easier for the consumer to compare products and allow retailers to remove non-compliant products from
the market place. The ErP legislation can be split into three sections as shown below.

What’s happening?
– Higher technical performance

– Ban of inefficient reflectors

relevant lamp packaging
– EEI** label classes on top of A class
(A+, A++) are added
– Classes “F” and “G” are removed
– kWh/1000h added (energy usage)
– Lamps starting September 2013, fixtures

* DIM stands for Domestic Implementing Measures.
** EEI stands for Energy Efficiency Index - a measure of lamps energy efficiency
